The Top-Ranked Asian Universities according to Times Higher Education (THE) for 2013 include 20 Asian universities in the top 200 slots. Of these, the University of Tokyo is the highest at #23. By country, 5 of these universities are in Japan; 4 in the Republic of Korea; 3 in Hong Kong; 2 each in China, Israel and Singapore; and 1 each in Taiwan and Turkey.
