Two Good Books on Early Modern Thought

I have recently read two excellent books on aspects of early modern thought:

1. Peter Marshall. The Reformation: A Very Short Introduction (OUP, 2009).

2. Lawrence M. Principe. The Scientific Revolution: A Very Short Introduction (OUP, 2011).

Both are in Oxford’s VSI series. There are numerous books on both subjects, of course, but I enjoyed revisiting both topics by way of these books and found myself seeing both topics with fresh eyes. Highly recommended.
